TIME
ROLE
Mobile App, Website Design,
Collabocation is an application/platform for designers & developers to share and collaborate on unfinished projects/ideas, creating a supportive community for creative collaboration.
Designers and developers often face a shared frustration: great ideas remain unfinished due to lack of collaboration opportunities, resources, or confidence.
While designers struggle to find peers or developers to bring their ideas to life, developers face difficulty sourcing well-structured design concepts for their apps. Additionally, both groups lack a central platform to connect, share, and collaborate meaningfully. Survey and interview data revealed that:
87% of designers store incomplete projects hoping to revisit them.
65% are open to collaborative platforms but hesitant to initiate.
Developers want vision-driven design ideas but lack the network to find them.
To tackle these challenges, I designed CollaboCation as a platform tailored to the needs of both designers and developers, drawing from in-depth user feedback, surveys, and industry insights. Our research made it clear that users needed a space to share unfinished ideas, connect with like-minded creatives, and collaborate without hesitation or confusion.
For the mobile platform, I focused on building a clean and intuitive layout that streamlined project discovery and encouraged community interaction. The navigation was constructed to help users quickly browse open collaborations, filter projects by required skills or categories, and view contributor details with ease. I also integrated collaborative tools like project timelines, chat modules, and progress tracking to support ongoing teamwork.
In the mobile interface, the design emphasized simplicity and accessibility. I optimized the feed to highlight trending and high-potential projects, making it easier for users to find relevant opportunities. Features like skill-based recommendations, collaboration requests, and push notifications were added to keep users engaged and updated throughout their creative journey.
The platform I designed from the ground up significantly improved the user experience for both designers and developers. By addressing core pain points—like lack of collaboration opportunities, scattered communication, and underutilized ideas—I created a space where users could easily connect, share projects, and work together meaningfully. Early user feedback highlighted the intuitive interface, project filtering, and seamless collaboration flow as major strengths.
